India’s first Christian Louboutin in New Delhi
Store opening
Celebrating its 20th anniversary - luxury French label, Christian Louboutin opened its first boutique in India, at DLF Emporio, New Delhi on 9th February 2012.
The store has launched with the Spring Summer 2012 collection consisting of both men’s and women’s shoes and handbags. The collection draws on this season’s artisan trend, represented in the Mexibead pump and locally inspired Bollywood peep-toe pump. The launch collection also embraces distinctive metal hardware detailing, which is showcased through a number of new styles such as the statement spiked evening clutch, the Marquise, the twist on the Louboutin classic Pigalle Spikes and metal-toed Gareth men’s dress shoe.
Continuing the creative relationship of the designer and principal architect, Eric Clough, the design and architectural build of the retail space has been done by New York based design firm 212box. Visitors are greeted by the traditional Louboutin red carpet. The interiors of the store – sourced from Syria & USA and the signature brand elements reflect the designer’s passion for travel.
Multi- coloured reclaimed tin from old New England buildings are employed to juxtapose the gold edges of the entry door, creating a visually exciting façade to the boutique.
Also displayed at the store are the white arched shoe alcoves reminiscent of an old theatre, which gives each product a stage to showcase their personalities.
